Kate Gosselin Boyfriend: Reality Star Confirms Romance With Former Bodyguard Steve Neild After Years of Denial

Kate Gosselin is in a relationship with Steve Neild, her former bodyguard, whom she publicly confirmed as her boyfriend in November 2025. The Jon & Kate Plus 8 star, 51, had teased the romance for months before making it Instagram official, sharing photos of Neild as one of her “obsessions.”

The confirmation marked a major shift for Gosselin, who for more than 15 years had vehemently denied any romantic involvement with Neild during her marriage to Jon Gosselin.

The Bodyguard Who Became Her Partner

Steve Neild began working for the Gosselin family in 2008, providing security services during the height of Jon & Kate Plus 8‘s popularity. He continued working for Kate after her 2009 divorce from Jon.

Neild later took a job at Viacom as a security consultant in 2013 and started his own company in 2020. He was married to his ex-wife Gina Neild from September 1990 until their divorce in September 2023. They share two sons, Kristopher and Michael.

A Romance Years in the Making

Kate first hinted at the relationship in September 2025 during a TikTok Q&A. When asked if she was dating, she replied, “The answer to that question is actually, finally, yes. I am dating somebody for the past year to a little over a year, maybe like 14, 15 months.”

She described her partner as someone she had “known for a really long time” and said she was “super, super happy.”

Jon Gosselin has publicly claimed that Kate’s relationship with Neild began during their marriage, which ended in 2009. He told The Sun in October 2025, “I believe Kate was cheating on me during my marriage,” noting that Neild slept in his house while they were filming.

The couple’s son Collin, who is estranged from his mother, also alleged on social media that Kate “had an affair with our bodyguard way back in 2009” and would share hotel rooms with him during family vacations.

Kate has consistently denied the affair allegations. When rumors first surfaced in 2009, she told People the claims were “disgusting, unthinkable, unfathomable, and I am horrified.”

In July 2026, Kate shared videos from Neild’s rural property, which she described as his “Wild Wild West” home. She revealed that Neild’s love for the West began during a family trip featured on Jon & Kate Plus 8, when he accompanied the family on a cross-country RV journey.

The property is still under construction but livable, and Kate said it’s the perfect place for their two rescue dogs, Koda and Meika, to “roam free.”
