Matthew Stafford Children: Meet the Four Daughters He Calls the ‘Greatest Part’ of His Life
· calvin
Matthew Stafford is a father of four daughters with his wife, Kelly Stafford. The Los Angeles Rams quarterback and Super Bowl LVI champion has often described fatherhood as the most meaningful role of his life.
“It’s the greatest part of my life, to be honest with you,” Stafford said in a 2021 interview. “It changed it in so many ways. You’ll never know what that feeling is until you have kids, and I’ve been lucky enough to have that four times. Four beautiful little daughters.”
The couple’s daughters have become familiar faces on NFL sidelines, frequently appearing at Rams games in coordinated outfits. In February 2026, all four joined Stafford on stage when he accepted his first AP NFL Most Valuable Player award.
Sawyer and Chandler Stafford, 9
Sawyer J. Stafford and Chandler Page Stafford are the couple’s twin daughters, born on March 31, 2017.
Kelly and Matthew announced they were expecting twins in October 2016. After experiencing fertility challenges, Kelly underwent in vitro fertilization with Matthew’s support. “It wasn’t an easy time but there’s a lot of people that go through it and figure out ways to get through it,” Matthew said on his wife’s podcast in May 2024.
The twins have distinct interests. Sawyer hopes to be an artist, while Chandler aspires to be a soccer player, according to the Staffords. Both attend cheer and tumbling classes, following in their mother’s footsteps as a former University of Georgia cheerleader.
Hunter Stafford, 8
Hunter Hope Stafford was born on August 16, 2018. Kelly announced the pregnancy during a family vacation in April 2018, revealing she had surprised Matthew with the news the previous Christmas.
Nicknamed “Huntie” by her mother, Hunter is described as having a “sassy” personality. She is the daughter most interested in the details of football, frequently asking her father questions about the game.
Tyler Stafford, 6
Tyler Hall Stafford is the couple’s youngest daughter, born on June 26, 2020, during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic. She loves arcade games, according to her mother.
A Family Decision to Keep Playing
Stafford revealed in February 2026 that his decision to return for another NFL season was a family decision. He announced his return while accepting the MVP award with his daughters standing beside him.
Stafford said he had discussed his future with his family before the previous season ended. “If they weren’t supportive of me playing, I wouldn’t do it,” he said.
The girls have also become involved in their game-day looks. Kelly said in September 2026 that the daughters now help design their customized Rams outfits. “They’re helping me with them this year, which is really fun,” Kelly told PEOPLE. “They’re telling me what they want on things and where they want it.”
MVP Tribute
During his MVP acceptance speech, Stafford made sure to acknowledge his daughters by name. “And to my four beautiful daughters, who I’m lucky enough to be sharing the stage with… Chandler, Sawyer, Hunter, Tyler, I’m so happy to be able to teach the blessings and those lessons of this game to you guys, through you guys.”
He later called them his “unbelievable cheerleaders.” After the ceremony, the family celebrated with a meal at Raising Cane’s.
