William Contreras Girlfriend: Brewers All-Star Engaged to Nixzali Adames, Sister of Former Teammate Willy Adames

Milwaukee Brewers catcher William Contreras is engaged to Nixzali Adames Luna, his longtime partner and the sister of former Brewers shortstop Willy Adames. The couple announced their engagement on January 31, 2026, in a joint Instagram post featuring a beachside proposal.

Contreras, 28, and Nixzali have been together since around 2021, according to relationship records. Their engagement marks the next step in a relationship that began when Contreras and Willy Adames were teammates in Milwaukee during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

The Proposal and Announcement

The engagement video showed the couple approaching a display with a lighted “Will you marry me” sign adorned with roses. Contreras, dressed in all white, got down on one knee as Nixzali, wearing a floral dress in pinks, wrapped her hands around his neck and crouched down to share a kiss. After he placed the ring on her finger, the couple celebrated with champagne.

Nixzali shared the news with a caption that read, “I said YES! 💍♥️ Thank you for coming into my life and staying forever. I love you fatty ♥️”.

The Brewers commented on the video with “Felicidades,” which means congratulations in Spanish.

Who Is Nixzali Adames?

Nixzali Adames Luna is the sister of Willy Adames, the former Milwaukee shortstop who now plays for the San Francisco Giants. She began dating Contreras when her brother and Contreras were teammates in Milwaukee during the 2023 and 2024 seasons.

In an Instagram Q&A, Nixzali described what it is like to be the sister of one MLB player and the girlfriend of another. “It’s a unique experience, filled with emotions,” she said. “But at the same time, full of challenges because of everyone’s opinions from outside. But it’s very nice to see them fulfill their dreams”.

She also spoke about the difficulty of balancing two baseball calendars after her brother’s 2024 move to San Francisco. “It’s not easy, now I have to learn two calendars 😅,” she said. “I have to divide my heart and time between two teams. But at the end of the day, I’m always his fan. Love you both no matter the uniform”.

William Contreras’ Career

William Contreras is a three-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger award winner. The Venezuelan native signed with the Atlanta Braves organization as a teenager and made his MLB debut in 2020. He was part of the 2021 Atlanta Braves World Series championship team before being traded to the Brewers in 2023.

Contreras is the younger brother of Willson Contreras, who plays for the Boston Red Sox. The two brothers played together in the 2022 All-Star Game and on the Venezuelan gold medal team at the 2026 World Baseball Classic.

The Adames Connection

The engagement creates a unique family dynamic in Major League Baseball. Contreras and Willy Adames were teammates in Milwaukee for two seasons before Adames signed with the Giants. Now, Contreras is set to become Adames’ brother-in-law.

The couple’s engagement was announced just before spring training, as Contreras prepared for the 2026 MLB season with the Brewers.
